The 8070i enables two people to use their fingers or a pen to write, draw and interact with content without any special tools or menus – students can simply walk up to the 8070i and immediately begin working together.
Freestyle interaction – Pushing the limits of learning
Thanks to the display's freestyle interaction feature, two students can perform different actions at the same time, anywhere on the 8070i. For example, one student can interact with images while the other writes in digital ink – there are no space restrictions and no special tools are required.
Touch gestures – Putting the world at their fingertips
Touch gestures enable students to interact with high-definition content in new and exciting ways, giving them a deeper, more interactive learning experience. Students can use simple and intuitive gestures, such as toss, rotate and zoom, or use the navigational gestures available with SMART Notebook 10.7 collaborative learning software. Touch gestures can also be used with multitouch operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows 7 or Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
Object awareness – Making it easy to interact
The object awareness feature makes using the 8070i a completely intuitive experience. You can switch seamlessly from writing with a pen to erasing with the palm of your hand and moving objects with your finger. There's no need to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray.

Teachers can access free, ready-to-use educational resources, including thousands of standards-correlated SMART Notebook lesson activities, anytime on the SMART Exchange website. Like other material created with SMART Notebook 10.6 software, these lesson activities are enhanced by the new features of the 885ix. And with the release of SMART Notebook 10.7 software, added functionality will become available.
